Palate Sensations Culinary School would like to reassure all participants of our steadfast dedication to safety in light of recent concerns stemming from an incident at River Valley. Since 2005, we have proudly upheld the dual mission of delivering exceptional culinary education while maintaining the highest safety standards for our participants, whether they are aspiring chefs or culinary enthusiasts.
Ensuring Rigorous Safety and Fire Preparedness
Based in the Chromos building at Biopolis, a property managed by JTC, we adhere strictly to regulated fire and safety measures whilst implementing additional protocols for enhanced security and peace of mind. Here’s a breakdown of our safety practices:
- Comprehensive Evacuation Protocols:
An Emergency Response Plan is in place, supported by six trained personnel ready to act immediately if the fire alarm is activated. Fire evacuation drills are conducted twice a year across the building.
- Accessible and Well-Signposted Exits:
Our studio is located on the ground floor, providing easy access to two brightly lit, clearly marked emergency exits. Before the start of every class/event, a safety briefing is conducted letting our participants know where all the exits and the subsequent rendezvous point is.
- Fire Safety Infrastructure:
The premises feature state-of-the-art fire safety systems, including sprinklers, a monitored alarm bell, and a public address system, all of which undergo monthly maintenance. We also have 7 strategically placed fire extinguishers, which are inspected annually.
- Trained First Aid Personnel and Emergency Equipment:
Our team is certified in first aid, and we maintain an on-site first aid kit. Additionally, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is available just 30 metres from our studio in the building lobby.
- Minimised Cooking Hazards:
The studio is equipped with modern induction stoves, reducing reliance on open flames for a safer cooking experience.
A Safe Learning Space for All
“Safety goes beyond regulations—it’s our responsibility to cultivate a space where participants can focus solely on enjoying their culinary experience,” says Lynette Foo, Chef Owner of Palate Sensations. Whether we’re hosting team-building workshops or training future chefs, our studio is designed to inspire creativity in a secure and welcoming environment.

Rest assured, participants who visit Palate Sensations are in safe and professional hands.
